Get Involved

There are many ways to join Casa Alterna in practicing radical hospitality with vulnerable immigrants.

Some people stand in solidarity with new friends at their ICE check-ins. Others participate in pilgrimages, immersions, or learning experiences. Churches, schools, and community groups invite us to speak, teach, and help create deeper understanding around immigration, displacement, accompaniment in search of this truth – love crosses borders.

At the heart of all of this is relationship.

We believe meaningful change begins when people move beyond headlines and statistics and encounter one another as neighbors, friends, and community. Whether you are looking to volunteer regularly, bring a group for an immersion experience, or invite Casa Alterna to speak with your community, there is a place for you in this work.

Together, we can create spaces of dignity, solidarity, and hope in the face of systems that isolate and divide.

  • Volunteer

Join Compas at the Gates of ICE, our volunteer accompaniment ministry rooted in presence, compassion, and faithful resistance. Volunteers stand with immigrants during ICE check-ins, court dates, and other appointments, offering calm presence, emotional support, practical assistance, and community care.

  • Groups

Bring your school, congregation, or community group for a delegation, immersion, or immigrant justice pilgrimage in Georgia or Guatemala. These experiences invite participants into deeper understanding through storytelling, reflection, shared meals, and relationships. Or invite Casa Alterna to speak with your community about immigrant justice, radical hospitality, accompaniment, and faithful resistance through keynotes, workshops, retreats, worship services, classroom and community events.
