“I pray… that all may be one, as you, Abba, are in me and I in you; I pray that they may be one in us, so that the world may believe that you sent me.” (John 17:20-21)
Yesterday I wrote, “Community is a sacred gift.”
In the creation narratives, God’s divine image is best seen not in the solitary man but in the naked-and-unashamed community of Adam and Eve. The two becoming one flesh reflects the nature of God as a community of oneness. The Church is called to be a community of oneness. The Church is called to be a sacred gift.
GO AND DO: Sing a song of praise, changing the “I”s to “we”s. Better still, sing it with a community.
