Equality

“Humankind was created as God’s reflection: in the divine image God created them; female and male, God made them.” (Genesis 1:27)

Yesterday I wrote, “God’s divine image is reflected [in] Adam and Eve.” 

Before George Fox declared both men and women as having “dominion over all that God made,” 17th Century Quakerism already included women clergy. Ann Austin, Margaret Fell, Mary Fisher, Elizabeth Hooton, and others were living testimonies that equality affirms that every person is an equal child of God.
