Could you betray Christ? I could.
When Jesus made this pronouncement, every disciple wondered if they were the betrayer. Surely Peter thought it was him.
No one guessed Judas. I mean, he’d just gone to town to either buy bread or give money to the poor.
Each of us are fully capable of both loving and betraying Christ. We are all filled with contradictions.
Yet Christ washes our feet, sends us out into the world with a common purse, and with a choice – glorify Christ or, God forbid, betray the Holy One.
Could you betray Christ? I could.
