Together, they shared food, culture, and stories, creating moments of joy and hope. Such connections enhance our shared humanity and vision for a more beautiful world.
Amid these challenges, a heartfelt desire began to resonate within the walls of Casa Alterna: "We need an outing to clear our minds!"
In offering hospitality while on medical leave, I learned that I do not carry this weight on my shoulders alone.
The combined meaning of the babies’ names, 'beloved strength,' embodies the beauty and resilience within Casa Alterna’s walls, visible now more than ever.

Anton Flores-Maisonet (B.S.W. ’92) frequently commutes from Decatur, Ga., to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport to provide hospitality, assistance and accompaniment to recently arrived immigrants and asylum seekers at no cost.
It is easy to not see the traveler with one bag, a bundle of paperwork, and no shoelaces.
